The Carrera de los Muertos race route incorporates the heart and soul of the city of Chicago. Starting at UNO’s Bartolome de las Casas Charter School Campus on 16th street and Paulina, the course goes through historic 18th street all the way east to towards Halsted. The race then heads northbound towards beautiful University Village. Runners and walkers alike pass through famous Maxwell street as they enter UIC’s athletic fields. Before the race finishes back at the Bartolome de las Casas Charter School Campus, participants pass through new Pilsen building developments including the University Commons. Be sure to also check out the murals located alongside 16th street.

Don’t be surprised to find various entertainment groups located throughout the race course! Last year’s race course entertainment included mariachi, traditional folkloric dance groups, Aztec dancers and DJ’s.
